What this website collects, why, who sees it, and how to ask us about it.

Updated October 2026.

1. Introduction

Alternative Energy Systems (Bermuda) Ltd. ("AES", "we") appreciates your business and trust. We are a Bermuda company, at 1 The Lane, Paget, Bermuda. This policy explains what this website (aes.bm) collects when you use it, and how that information is used. Please read it before using the site.

2. Data collected

Where the website is hosted

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which also receives the website's quote request form and passes it to us. Netlify's privacy policy: netlify.com/privacy.

The quote request form

When you request a quote, we receive what you enter: the service you are interested in, the property address, your name, email address and phone number, and any message. With it we receive the page you sent it from and, where you arrived from an advert or a tracked link, the campaign details in that link. The request is sent to our company email, hosted by Microsoft 365.

We use it to respond to your request: to contact you, arrange a site visit and prepare a proposal.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to report on how the site is used: the pages visited, the device and browser, and the approximate location. It does not give us your name or contact details. If you would like to opt out of Google Analytics, use Google's Google Analytics Opt-out.

The Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel, from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), to measure our adverts and to show our adverts to people who have visited this site. It records the pages you visit and, when you send a quote request, that a request was made. When you send a quote request, a scrambled (hashed) copy of the email address and phone number you entered may be sent to Meta so it can match the request to an advert. Meta's privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can change the adverts you see in your Meta account's ad preferences.

9. Your data rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any of the personal data we have stored. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

If all of your data is erased, we will no longer be able to continue with your enquiry.

You agree that we may disclose your information to a third party where we believe, in good faith, that it is desirable to do so for the purposes of a civil action, criminal investigation, or other legal matter.
